Grandma's Meatballs

Ingredients
For the meatballs
- 250 g beef mince
- 250 g pork mince
- 2 eggs
- 3-4 slices of bread, soaked in water and squeezed dry
- 1 onion, grated
- 1-2 cloves garlic, grated
- ground allspice
- cumin
- plenty of dried oregano
- salt
- black pepper
- a little olive oil
For frying
- flour, for dusting
- olive oil, for frying
Method
- Put both minces in a large bowl with the eggs, the soaked and squeezed bread, and the grated onion and garlic.
- Season generously: salt, black pepper, a good pinch of allspice and cumin, and plenty of oregano. Add a little olive oil.
- Mix everything together with your hands until just combined.
- Shape into small meatballs — keep them fluffy, not tight. That's grandma's secret.
- Roll each one lightly in flour.
- Fry in hot olive oil until browned all over. Serve.
